Mano Negra, the backpacker musicians

Manu Chao actively participates in Los Carayos, but has plans for another group.
He brings together several musicians from other groups around him, notably Alain des Wampas,
or even Mamack from Chihuahua, Santi and Tonio. Manu Chao meets the Pests
while they are playing in the metro, he invites the group to record Patchanka with the huge hit Mala Vida.
In 1988, Bernard Batzen became the group’s manager and advised them to build their own company: SARL Patchanka.
Thus, thanks to their new manager, Mano Negra continues to perform concerts. The group then saw its notoriety increase.
The group became a major French rock group.
