INDOCHINE, the unbridled group
Indochine is a French pop rock group from Paris, formed by Nicola Sirkis and Dominique Nicolas in 1981,
and from the new wave movement. Revealed by the title L’Aventurier in 1982, the group enjoyed great success in the 1980s
with hits like Three nights per week, 3rd sex, Tes yeux noirs or Canary Bay.
After a few albums that met with less success in the 1990s, the group found success again in 2002
with the release of the album Paradize, from which the single J’ai demandé à la lune was released.
Indochine was the first French group to fill the Stade de France in 2010.
In 2011, it received a Victory of Honor during the Victoires de la Musique; with more than 13 million records sold,
it is the French group having sold the most records. In 2017, Indochine received an honorary prize at the NRJ Music Awards.
In 2022, while the group beats the record for the number of spectators present at the Stade de France
during its Central Tour (97,036 people), a survey places Indochine in third position in the ranking of the French’s favorite artists.
